Alexis

Alexis is full of life and determination; she is a survivor! August 28, 2017 started out as just another day for Alexis, working on college classwork, hanging out with her family, there was no way of knowing how this day would unfold, changing her life, forever… in the blink of an eye, she was severely wounded in a mass shooting…

It is nothing short of a privilege to be able to support this team and their Service Dog Journey. Alexis is full of life and determination; she is a survivor. At Guardian Service Dogs one of our biggest goals in reintegration into society with the assistance of a Service Dog. Kash will be learning a number of tasks to help achieve this goal, for Alexis this will be one of the biggest benefits of Kash being trained as her Service Dog.

August 28, 2017 started out as just another day for Alexis, working on college classwork, hanging out with her family, there was no way of knowing how this day would unfold, changing her life, forever…

That afternoon, Alexis & her little brother went into the Clovis Carver Public Library, Alexis needed to print out a paper for college. Minutes after they arrived at the library a shooter emerged & started unloading his gun killing 2 and injuring 4.  Alexis and her brother were both injured in this horrific event.

Alexis was shot three times, one bullet millimeters from her heart, one bullet in the right knee, & the other bullet in her left knee that has ultimately stayed in her tibia.

As a result, Alexis has suffered severe PTSD since being shot.

Kash

Is a beautiful French Bulldog, that was selected specifically for and by Alexis. After meeting numerous pups, and with the assistance of a Puppy Selection Expert, Alexis ultimately selected this handsome guy at 8 weeks old because of his personality and trainability markers. Kash is a very smart puppy and is learning his behaviors extremely well!  She hopes one day to be able to go to public places alone again, With Kash by her side. Alexis is currently in the GSD program training with her dog Kash.
